Q: Where does the name honeylufu come from?
A: Lufu (ˈlʊvʊ) is Old English for the word ‘love.’ On our first road trip together over our courtship, Alex and I listened to his favorite Brandon Flowers’ CD (google CD if you need to) on repeat, crooning about buying a gold-plated ring for his honey-love. After hearing that song at least 12 times during the drive, we became each other’s honey-love, or honeylufu.
Honeylove is also a brand for women’s spandex, so let’s try to avoid that confusion.
Q: How did you get the name Novalee?
A: Novalee comes from the book-turned-movie Where the Heart Is. It’s a childhood favorite of mine, and the movie also stars my celebrity crush, Natalie Portman.
Q: What ethnicity are you?
A: I am Vietnamese and Alex is Chinese; therefore, Novalee is half Vietnamese and half Chinese. Or some would say, half jungle Asian and half fancy Asian. #aliwong
Q: Where do you guys get your decor?
A: Everywhere! I get my inspiration mostly from Instagram, Pinterest, and Joanna Gaines. Favorite places to shop for those said inspirations are from Amazon, Homegoods, Target.
